A division of the University of New Mexico student government, Student Special Events (SSE) works to provide free and affordable entertainment for the students of UNM. During my time at SSE I had to opportunity to organize, orchestrate and assist in over 300 campus events. From bonfires to cultural days, from festivals to lunchtime concerts and everything in between. Managed a budget of over $100,000 annually. During my time at SSE we founded a Battle of the Bands, which showcased student talent to compete for a spot at the biggest event of the year, Fiestas. This is a tradition that continues today and a legacy I am proud to leave behind. Near the end of each year our office planned and executed, Fiestas, a spring tradition which is usually the largest event on campus each year. Acts worked with: Jason Mraz, Reel Big Fish, The Shins, The Glitch Mob, Head Automatica, RyanHood, Kid Beyond, Calexico, Suburban Legends, Step Afrika, KRS One, Girltalk and hundreds of local and touring bands.
