ICS-CTRL designs and manufactures Ham radio repeater controllers. For ICS-CTRL, I am a co-owner and work all facets of the business including new product design, software design, webmaster, supply chain, manufacturing, customer support, and etc.Currently I am working on a new design to bring new repeater controllers to the Raspberry Pi platform. Design will support 2 independent controllers in a daughter card that shares the same footprint as the raspberry pi. Through the work of partnered software engineers, the PI based controllers can also act as a reflector (local or internet based, still in development) to bring additional channels online, while allowing a maximum reliability offered by using distributed hardware. Loosing one piece of hardware won't take your entire system down!

My primary responsibility with Philips healthcare is supporting electrical projects related to supply continuity for the AED product design and acting as technical lead.In addition to supply continuity tasks, I work with the Research and Development (R&D) teams to 1) Execute system level testing for an upcoming product release and 2) supporting CAPA activities to help drive closure.An example of the project success I have had while working with Philips has been successfully getting a new LCD reaccepted into an upcoming product revision. The project had fallen behind schedule and had been removed from the project plan.

Teledyne BlueView designs and manufactures industrial sonar systems typically used in the oil and gas, and infrastructure (bridges/dams/etc) inspection markets.My primary responsibilities include supporting new product design and design enhancements. I have worked with supply chain to introduce flying probe and functional testing to our manufacturing workflows to enhance our incoming quality resulting in reduced scrap and reduced assembly rework. In addition to regular support on the factory floor, I am also responsible for isolating and correcting signal integrity issues when they are detected. An example project included the proof of concept integration of a sonar, GPS, and Heave-Pitch-Roll sensor into a single product embodiment. This project is expected to hit the market in early 2016.Another example project was the replacement of an extended range Ethernet solution. The replacement design performs exceptionally well across the specified range providing full bandwidth across the entire extended range (typical designs degrade with range) and includes a very high immunity to noise sources providing a reliable connection to the sonar from the surface This project was successful both technically and provided a significant cost savings in the design.

As a FIRST certified volunteer referee within the ORTOP community, I was responsible for training and managing event volunteer staff to ensure smooth operations on the competition floor during regional tournaments. Part of this event management includes for helping teams to understand the mechanics and rules of the each years technical challenge, assisting in equipment communication issues, and compliance to design rules during pre-event inspections.As a certified volunteer, I was also a member of ORTOP steering committee providing input on future directions and technology incorporation alongside the other small team or core volunteers.

Lead a small group of volunteers to evaluate technical design criteria related to robot design. As panel lead I frequently provide day-of training for new volunteers and cover vacancies and absent positions to help ensure smooth tournament operation and qualifier and championship tournaments

As an Component Integration Engineer I was primarily responsible for project management and Component Engineering roles of high reliability, high voltage component packaging design used in implanted medical devices including pace-makers and defibrillators. Daily activities included managing multi-discipline team members to develop Silicon device packaging designs, perform technical evaluation and functional life testing of prototype devices through all stages of development, failure analysis for defective devices, technical risk analysis and mitigation through FMEA, functional test, and design analysis.In the Component Engineering Test Engineer role I was responsible for designing and maintaining component test fixtures including hardware, firmware, and software. Components tested range from low voltage capacitors to multi-chip high voltage BGAs. Software development was primarily LabVIEW based, but also included embedded C, Matlab, and other languages as required for legacy maintenance of equipment.

While at Omneon Video Networks, I was primarily responsible for supporting our contract manufacturer through on-site pilot build production support. To support this objective, I was embedded with the design engineering team working to help functional test infrastructure though system design and working with other designers to build in self test functionality.In addition to the design side of the production support, I was also active to support triage and repair of engineering development hardware, providing assistance with first-article power-on activity, and other testing and support as needed.As part of my operations team responsibilities, I also acted as the primary liaison between the operations team and design engineering.
