With other co-founder, developed a business plan for an Internet based multi-lingual search engine business. Helped negotiate license agreement with BYU for base technology. Recruited key people for finance, engineering, and marketing. Supervised development in C++, Java, and HTML on Microsoft and UNIX platforms. Directed the adaptation of the base technology to achieve the goals enumerated in the business plan. Worked with CFO to take the company public and achieved a market cap of over $500 million. Worked with CFO to find a buyer and sell the company.

Developed domestic and international marketing strategies for the WordPerfect brand and product line. Presented and sold those strategies to the WordPerfect Board of Directors. Established and/or supervised departments for advertising, customer service, technical support, product documentation, public relations, special events/trade shows, channel sales, and business development. Worked with like-minded companies on strategic alliances and joint marketing programs. Helped build worldwide sales from less than $50 million annually to nearly $700 million.
