The Urban Land Institute (ULI) is the preeminent multidisciplinary real estate organization in the world, facilitating the open exchange of ideas, knowledge, and experience among local, national, and international industry leaders and policymakers dedicated to creating and sustaining thriving communities worldwide. A 501(c)(3), nonprofit, member-driven research and education organization, the Institute has 40,000+ global members representing the entire spectrum of land use and real estate development disciplines, both in private enterprise and public service.As the Director of ULI New Mexico, I coordinate with district council members, administer all programs and develop marketing and communications strategies for membership involvement and sponsorship support. This is all to advance the goals and objectives of the district council.

Working within the Transit Department as a contractor, I co-managed the communications and outreach of the launch of the ABQ Rapid Transit, or ART, project. I was one member of a small internal team of three that designed the bus wraps, revised the website, filmed and produced a television ad, generated and managed social media content on multiple platforms, redesigned and installed system maps at every station and so much more. With millions of paid and organic impressions, we were successfully able to launch the much-delayed project. In the first month of service, ridership more than doubled on Central Avenue. Though there were numerous collisions, there were very few serious injuries or fatalities. There has been nothing but a positive response to the bus designs specifically, which we see as a major victory. I was honored to be part of such a unique and challenging project.

From within the CABQ Economic Development Department, I led outreach for a holistic development strategy along Albuquerque's Central corridor, the location of a new premium bus rapid transit service, expected to begin operation in 2019. I was the primary organizer of numerous public meetings and other engagement opportunities, all of which utilized a unique format that allowed for a more democratic process. I led the communications and outreach portion of the project, which included building and maintaining a website and an email list with hundreds of interested people. Common Ground ABQ (CG ABQ), a McCune Foundation-funded program, is using an equity lens to strengthen the relationship between the City of Albuquerque (CABQ) and underserved communities. Partners who are advising the program include community organizations, advocates, and leaders from diverse communities who bring expertise and knowledge of community engagement to this program.

Clean energy is the way of the future and SolarCity is leading the way. I educated hundreds of people about the service SolarCity offers: no upfront cost solar systems for potentially less per month than your utility bill. We provided comprehensive coverage of both the system and the roof.

I lead locals and tourists on 2-5 hour tours of Albuquerque. These include, but are not limited to, Balloon Fiesta tours, scenic tours of the Rio Grande River Trail, local brewer tours, Breaking Bad (Biking Bad) tours and more. These tours require a high level of engagement as well as a comprehensive knowledge of the history and culture in Albuquerque. People on the tour include a vast range of ages and abilities. I love showing people the most interesting and beautiful parts of Albuquerque by bike!

Acquired permits, hired barricade company, coordinated the Downtown Neighborhood Association and other orgs to make sure this event was successful. First ever open streets event in New Mexico. Hosted 2000-5000 people over the course of the 5 hour event. Included many local businesses, food trucks, yoga and so much more. More info can be found on our website, abqciqlovia.org.

I helped neighborhoods start and build online Nextdoor groups in Albuquerque. I worked closely with Nextdoor Leads, passionate citizens who helped to moderate the local sites. I also worked with many local Nextdoor members to spread the word about Nextdoor and help increase neighborhood engagement across the city.I am passionate about making ABQ a stronger and more robust community. A strong city is a collection of strong neighborhoods. Nextdoor.com is a great tool for strengthening neighborhoods and communities.

Initiated an interactive online multilayer-mapping project. Project focused on aspects of sustainability on the University of Arizona campus. Specifically focused on alternative transportation aspects of the map. Collaborated with university faculty members from multiple departments.
