About Dan M.

Global business consultant and professional metallurgist specialized in the techno-economics of critical metals toward circular economy and passionate about the geo-economics of its supply chain. Kickstarted the $1.5M commercial project for a rural Canadian startup and supercharged its global business in ultra-high purity Cd and Te for solid-state nuclear detectors (CdTe, CdZnTe, HgCdTe) and solar CdTe PVs. Further, he created the lithium-tellurium (LiTe) battery project for zero emission vehicles in British Columbia - now worth more than $2M. Recently worked on the techno-economic viability of recycling tin from waste electronics for a premier US refiner. Currently, he consults on the global business development of an Asian startup: bringing their molecular-beam-epitaxy (MBE) grade metals into the next-generation compound semiconductors and advanced electronics markets.Dan holds a triple-master’s degree in georesources engineering (innovation in geometallurgy) from Université de Liège, École Nationale Supérieure de Géologie-Université de Lorraine, and Luleå tekniska universitet under the Erasmus Mundus scholarship. He has won 2nd place at an international MBA competition by Financial Times in London, UK in 2016. He received his bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering at the University of the Philippines-Diliman. He has traveled to more than 30 countries and ran 10-km everyday for 121 days for suicide prevention.
