Kickstarted over $1.5M commercial startup expansion on new product lines: from engineering design of the ultra-high purification process and product manufacture to international business development.▪ Globally launched 6N5+ oxide-free cadmium and tellurium products for cadmium-zinc-telluride (CZT) and cadmium-telluride (CdTe) semiconductors for solid-state gamma and x-ray detectors.▪ Managed product design processes through extensive market research, client identification, and continuous meeting with potential clients after successful NDAs.▪ Created competitive strategies from identified key competitors, obtained product pricing and client specifications, and geopolitics of the global supply chain – from West to East.▪ Successful product qualification with major clients on Cd-based semiconductors in Canada and Germany/Japan.Solidified international client partnerships and established the startup brand via collaborative projects:▪ Secured $260k funding for the solid-state lithium-tellurium/sulfur (LiTe-S) Battery project (original idea) using waste Te: $80k from Mitacs and $180k from Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions (PICS) – now worth ~$2M in funding (one of the largest battery projects in Western Canada).▪ Partnered on successful $1M US funding proposal for a commercial research project on CZT single crystal growth via accelerated crucible rotation technique (ACRT).▪ Co-developed a $35k technical project on advancing CdTe doping for next-generation solar material with a major North American solar company.▪ Established future process chain for CdTe and CdZnTe photolithography between North America and CZT/CdTe users in Europe and Middle East.Managed the on-going project funding from NRC-IRAP and applied for pilot-scale funding from Western Diversification Fund worth $2M (successfully short-listed before company exit)

Developed a novel hydrometallurgical extraction that can directly recover 1N selenium from crude copper selenide at normal temperature and pressure conditions. Now, the research is focused on the optimization of the parameters, and further purification of the 1N selenium to higher purity commodity of 3N to 5N. Potential application of the novel process to extract pure tellurium from telluride compounds are being explored.

Philippines

Designed all the detailed treatment procedures to neutralize the acidic heap and pregnant leach solution (with Ni, Co, and Fe) as part of the decommissioning of Euronickel research facility in Zambales, Philippines. Supervised the construction, commissioning, optimization, and sampling methodology of the acid neutralization plant with dewatering circuit: target slurry discharge of neutral pH (from 1.2), dark green solids and clear supernatant. Recommissioned an old agglomerator coupled with refurbished feed chutes and conveyors to neutralize the acidic heap materials using hydrated lime powder.In 2012 to 2013: Supervised the development of the feasibility projects at various mineral laboratories. Performed the calculations and analyses of the mineralogical data for weekly progress reports and assisted in the writing of the final preliminary reports.

Assisted in the full commissioning of the magnetite regrind-flotation circuit through full material balance of the regrind circuit and hydrocyclone performance by particle size analysis of flow streams and flotation tests for copper and sulfur recoverie

Philippines

Optimized the key parameters of the process plant of Philsaga Mining Corporation to maximize the gold and silver recoveries and ensured its daily metal productions to effectively manage cash flows. Performed daily equipment inspection e.g. CIL tanks to assure that the required parameters were followed.
