Senior Leader of an urban mixed-use development firm and urban design brainstorming think tank. I lead an array of multi-million-dollar projects by creating the master vision in collaboration with cross-functional development, construction, and design teams for private sector real estate developers. I coordinate internal real estate, design, and construction teams to perform due diligence, pro forma analysis, financial investment and lending strategies, land planning, and site and building design. Guiding internal teams to bring their best each day and helping them develop into the next generation of leaders is truly the best part of the role.Here are a few select projects I've worked on to date:• Spearheaded a $500M project to develop a 1.5-acre Main Gateway in the core of downtown Buffalo on an urban historic location consisting of reimagining10 existing historic buildings to create a dynamic urban mixed-use community.• Chartered 25-acre suburban town center for Grand Island NY, with an array of housing, senior independent living, Airbnb, exterior recreational platforms, wellness center, and community center with water feature.• Revitalized historic downtown by conceiving $18M multi-use Theatre Place in the home of famous Shea's Theater.

With Wendel, I unified regional operations and business development as both the Studio Director and Senior Principal Architectural Designer for the Multi-family Housing line of business. I shaped account strategy and followed projects from concept to conclusion including providing post-project support. I crafted RFP responses and led negotiations with an eye to developing long-term relationships and building the firm's reputation. I leveraged technology, infrastructure, and external resources to deliver against both project and corporate objectives.Below are a few projects that shaped my nearly 10 years in this role:• Spearheaded the establishment of the Phoenix regional office by cold-calling and turning prospects into valued clients.• Studio delivered $3M in sales and grew staff to 10+ employees within the first year.• Won $135M bids for 15 major projects in a 2-year timeframe by engaging clients, listening carefully to their dreams and fears, and translating those into carefully sited and eloquently designed buildings on time and under budget.

I then relocated to Scottsdale in 2005 to take on a role as Principal Architect with Dale Gardon Design. Here, I directed the design and construction of custom-built, luxury homes heading up a design team of mere than 50 during a regional building surge. I managed the firm's financial and human resources inclusive of an internal, multi-disciplinary team responsible for planning and design. As well, I managed external subcontractors, hired, trained, and mentored a high-performing team, and negotiated all contracts. Serving as the agency's main contact with city and environmental agencies, I ensured quality control for all architectural detailing, specification writing, and engineering requirements. Some two achievements while in this role:• Planned 60-acre mixed-use retail, residential, and hotel development with Class-A office at One Scottsdale.• Directed design and construction of two multi-million-dollar residential estates - Cownie Estate, 17,500 sq. ft. Mediterranean style home and Mendez Estate, 18,000 sq. ft. Spanish Mission style home.

In the late '90s, I made a decision to branch out on my own and founded a firm offering distinctive architectural design and comprehensive project leadership for a broad, unique client base. I managed business development and fostered client relationships, bringing in projects spanning from historical renovation to new construction. Superior design was the foundation for all of our work, but we were a full-service agency managing throughout the project lifecycle to guide design concept, technical approach, and construction plan production. Additionally, I oversaw budget and resources, including managing consultants. Here are some highlights of the projects we managed: • Executed 5,000 sq. ft. $1M historic preservation and renovation of first campus building to repurpose as Admissions Office and Conference Center for Medaille College.• Constructed $12M 5-story 175 bed residence hall and student activity center for D'Youville College in urban historic district.• Designed Baywinde Senior Residential Community in Webster, NY with 28 patio homes.• Oversaw Castle Pointe Apartment Homes $12M project to build 120-unit, 110,000 sq. ft. senior living facility.• Led design and construction of 84-bed Sage Harbor Assisted Living Facility inclusive of memory care unit.
