As CTO of digital agency Greenwood Campbell I’m responsible for the technical direction of the agency, leadership of the studio teams, and quality of the technical and creative work delivered to our customers. A member of the executive team, I provide technical and commercial strategic direction to ensure the commercial success and technical prowess of the business. Greenwood Campbell is now a significant talking point within Microsoft, with them describing our achievements and capabilities to their partners and customers, having flown me to international events to present our partnership story.Key projects include:* CherryBot, an AI powered chatbot for premiership football club AFC Bournemouth. Through close collaboration with Microsoft, we created an innovative fan engagement campaign through Facebook messenger, all on the Microsoft Azure technology stack.* RNLI MySAR - Created a custom designed front end web interface to integrate with their existing on-premise Microsoft ERP software. Sophisticated use of cloud technology enabled increased user adoption, ultimately leading to improved operational readiness for their lifesaving teams.* Urtle - An Airbnb equivalent web application for care homes to advertise and accept shift work from applicants, with integrated payments, ratings, and social sign-in. Provided strategic technical direction to company investors and management team.* Developed the entire web application for an internet startup international school finder, which became so successful it was bought out by Chinese investors.

Reporting directly to the CIO, I was responsible for all new digital software development within Fitness First Group IT, a department responsible for all IT across Fitness First's global estate.Led a SCRUM team of developers and testers to perform a global rollout of Fitness First’s new web platform, which my team had developed based on EPiServer 7.5 using ASP.NET MVC4. Successfully deployed to 16 countries, the website allows members to find a club, download guest passes, join online and manage their account. It involved integration with numerous third party systems either directly or via the creation and consumption of web API and web services. Taking a BDD approach to development, the codebase was supported by unit tests and blackbox tests, allowing my team to deploy new builds with confidence and make changes and improvements quickly.Daily work involved a broad spectrum of responsibilities, from writing code, to providing technical direction to my team, working closely with the stakeholders and liaising directly with third parties including SEO agencies, design agencies and solution vendors. Taking a BDD approach to testing, the code-base is supported by a growing level of code coverage backed by unit tests and automated black-box tests, allowing the team to deploy new builds with confidence and make changes and improvements rapidly. Worked as an agile team leader and practicing developer, my responsibility was to ensure my team operated without impediments, had transparent communication with the key stakeholders, always was working on the current set of priority tasks, and ultimately delivered the functionality required. My team’s responsibility was for the Alterian Content Manager Smart Client, a Winforms .NET client written in C# .NET, the UI-rich front end for the Alterian Content Manager enterprise CMS. I gained significant experience in handling multi-user, multi-threaded scenarios and working with a messaging based architecture to a cross platform Java enterprise server. Development tasks included writing and maintaining unit tests, WPF UI code, Winforms UI code, business logic and .NET to Java interop. Projects of note include a complete MVC3 implementation of the CMS delivery engine, using custom controller factories, route handlers and the Razor view engine. This included meeting with technical partners to discuss requirements, presentations to senior stakeholders and walk-throughs with technical consultants in the organisation.I was instrumental in the success of the major version 7.0 release of Alterian Content Manager, the largest ever CMS software release in the product's history.

Worked as an ASP.NET senior developer in the core product development (CPD) team, developing the Immediacy CMS product, at the time the leading .NET CMS, known for its ease of use, platform extensibility and third-party product integration. My biggest contribution to Immediacy CMS was the release of SharePoint Connector 2.0, an enterprise connector product allowing unmatched ease of use and powerful bi-directional integration with Microsoft SharePoint lists and document libraries. At release it was described by Forrester Research as best in the market. My contribution to this product was critical, having architected the design; implemented the majority of the code base; and acted as Scrum Master for the subsequently invested development team for the next 2 major versions.

Joined Microsoft as an intern during my Computing Degree, at the UK headquarters at Thames Valley Park, Reading, in the Product Support Services department. Worked with several excellent colleagues in the Visual Basic 6.0 / Visual Basic.NET Product Support (VB Client) team, supporting Visual Studio 6.0 and Visual Studio .NET to companies and individuals across the EMEA region on various issues including coding, design, deployment and debugging.Having one of the highest customer satisfaction scores of the team, none of my surveyed customers were dissatisfied, most were rated as very-satisfied. Some of my cases were of a high severity, where deadlines and outcomes were critical.During my placement I gained Microsoft Certified Professional status with the following exams passed:* Designing and Implementing Distributed Applications with Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0* Designing and Implementing Desktop Applications with Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0Many technologies learnt including VB.NET, VB6, ASP, XML, ADO and COM.

Worked part-time whilst sitting A levels and University, on the sales floor approaching customers and making sales. Often top part time salesperson for warranty, GP and sales volume targets.Whilst at Apollo 2000 I was separately hired to help establish their store-wide intranet, to facilitate exchange of vital sales information. This allowed easy access to staff email addresses, manufacturer information, memos and product details. The intranet was set up using my knowledge of DHTML, ASP and JavaScript on the Microsoft Windows NT and 2000 platforms.
