Work Market is disrupting the labor market space. Backed by USV and Spark, we grew the top-line about 300% during my time there and raised a major round of capital. What I did:-Improved uptime from 99.7% to 99.99%, regularly having 100% uptime months. Drove critical issues down from 1 critical per day to 1 every 10 days. Drove out brownouts and slow algorithms with refactoring/re-architecting.-Automated deploys and went from 1-2 deploys a month to ~200 deploys per month-Introduced automated browser testing, took unit tests and integration tests from basically 0% to 40%, automated with CI.-Introduced continuous security scanning from Whitehat, passed security audit and pci.-Drove down avg page loads from 6s to 3.5s with visibility to get to ~1s in upcoming 6-12 months-Rebuilt our mobile app (html5-based) to a hybrid html-5/native app with significant performance improvements, and major functionality improvements (push notifications, persistent login, etc)-Started with a team of 6 and an offshore company. Fired the offshore company and two developers. Rebuilt to a team of ~20 in-house engineers and PMs. Recruited that team myself - no in-house recruiter or external recruiters.-Introduced teams and promoted 3 team leads. Trained one team lead to replace myself as head of technology.-Introduced first qa automation, dev-ops, mobile, design and front-end engineering teams.-Built a strong engineering culture centered around several principals, no assholes and mature engineering. Several engineers told me this was the best team they had worked with and favorite manager they had worked for.-Introduced data driven concept: reporting, weekly data meetings, data centric roadmap.-Wrote A LOT of code myself.-Promoted to take over product after ~8 months.-Debated the business in board meetings with Fred Wilson (usv), Mo Koyfman (spark), Jordy Levy (softbank) and others.

We won major awards including Times Gadget of the Year in 2008, Wired Product of the Year in 2008, Oprah's list of things she likes 2008, and more. The company later transitioned to provide a software platform, The Genius Cloud, to feature phones sellers in developing nations.Instrumental in building the company and helping raise over $30mm in capital from RRE, Bharti-Airtel, Softbank, L Capital and more. Acting CEO for a short stint. Rebuilt the company from a hardware company to a software platform. Traveled often internationally to lead/build-on sales & partnerships. Instrumental in designing and building calling circles plan across multiple countries.

Helped create Redknee's sales engineering organization. Sold Redknee's largest deal to date to TSTT in Trinidad, a multi million dollar deal. Lead on rollout and implementation for the project in Trinidad.

Redknee was a fully bootstrapped startup that I joined as one of the early and instrumental employees on their way to IPO (TSX:RKN). Moved into director role within 12 months of graduating, leading a team of 30 engineers and reporting to CTO.Designed and received a patent for building one of the first Wifi rating systems based on hourly usage that charges to a mobile account.Designed and implemented Redknee's converged prepaid and postpaid billing and CRM system, which now accounts for a large portion of Redknee's revenue as a public company.
