Dr. Mosely enlisted in the US Army in 1985 and served as a low-level voice interceptor and Korean linguist on active duty and as a reservist while completing a BA in Biology at Potsdam College, Potsdam NY in 1992. He graduated from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) in 1996. He completed an internship at Womack Army Medical Center in 1997 and completed his residency at San Antonio Military Medical Center (SAMMC) in San Antonio, Texas in 2002. Between internship and residency training, he had the honor of serving as the unit physician for the 1st Battalion, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne), also known as “The Nightstalkers.” Following residency training, Dr. Mosely was the Assistant Chief and EMS Director of the Emergency and Operational Medicine Service at Walter Reed Army Medical Center from 2002-2005. During that period, he deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan on numerous occasions in support of the US Special Operations Command.From 2005 until 2010, Dr. Mosely was assigned to Fort Belvoir, VA working in numerous capacities and deploying in support of the Global War on Terrorism multiple times. While in Washington, D.C., and Virginia, he was also an assistant professor in the Department of Military and Emergency Medicine at USUHS and taught numerous courses to the medical students every semester. From 2010 until late 2011 he was an active core faculty member for the SAMMC emergency medicine residency program where he worked clinically in the ED and taught residents on a daily basis in all forms of emergency care.He retired from active military service in 2011 after 26 years of honorable service to the nation and joined the Department of EM at the UT Health Science Center at San Antonio, serving as clinical faculty, assistant professor, as the Clerkship Director and was a founding core faculty for the first-ever civilian emergency medicine residency program in San Antonio.In 2013 he decided to pursue full-time clinical medicine in various emergency departments in San Antonio, TX. Since then, he has worked at numerous FSEDs and hospital ERs throughout San Antonio. Beginning in 2019, he started working as a consulting subject matter expert (SME) to the Joint Trauma System (JTS), a Directorate of the Defense Health Agency (DHA) focused on promoting evidence-based trauma care and education throughout the Department of Defense.
