About Dan Mostyn
I am a STEM and CTE teacher at Lockport Township High School. With experience in both the private and public sectors, as well as with students in the inner-city and suburban Chicago, along with a previous career as an engineer, I bring unique perspective and skills to the students and faculty that I serve.As a believer in lifelong learning, I have a masters degree in secondary science education from Northwestern University and a masters degree in principal leadership from Governors State University. I am licensed to teach science and technology courses in the state of Illinois and also have been certified as a school principal and teacher evaluator in the state as well. I have completed more than 250 hours of professional development in order to be certified to teach three PLTW courses (Introduction to Engineering Design, Principles of Engineering, and Aerospace Engineering).I believe that all students want to succeed and have individual goals that should be supported by the school that they attend, no matter their cultural or socioeconomic background or where their future aspirations will take them. It is my job to serve these students to the best of my ability, whether that is with instruction the classroom, coaching extra-curricular activities, mentoring, or with leadership opportunities in the school.
