I am a native of California, born and raised in the East Bay Area. I am a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP®), an alumnus of Harvard Business School, and received my undergraduate degree in Philosophy with a Religious Emphasis before continuing on to Fuller Theological Seminary for my Masters of Divinity. I enjoyed fifteen years in local church pastoral ministry specializing in teaching, project management, stewardship, and human resources prior to joining NCF in 2022. I am also a published contributor to Church Law & Tax and churchsalary.com (subsidiaries of Christianity Today) as a writer and a Church Coach with Chemistry Staffing, where I help churches find healthy, long-term fits for key roles on their team. In my NCF role, I equip others with the creative tools, strategies, and insights they need to maximize their generosity and establish a lasting legacy. My area of passion is generosity, combining spiritual discipleship with tax-efficient strategies and tools to maximize the unleashing of resources. I see myself as a great fit with NCF because if our heart truly is where our treasure is (Matthew 6:21), then developing a heart of generosity is a great tool to encourage wholehearted discipleship among Christ’s Church. My wife, Amy, and I married in 2012 and have three sons, including identical twins. In true entrepreneurial spirit, we founded and grew a small business over five years, concluding with a successful acquisition and exit in 2021. We reside in the Central Valley of California, where I like to remind people I can be at a Giants game, the snow, the lake, or the beach, all within about a two-hour drive. In my leisure time, I enjoy watching, coaching, and playing baseball, fishing, and playing music with my kids.Specialties: Excellent interpersonal skills, tax-efficient giving strategies, Donor Advised Fund management, ambitious relationship builder with an entrepreneurial spirit, preaching & teaching (expository and topical), project administration & implementation, budget development, long-range vision planning, staff training (both paid & volunteer), and philosophy of ministry development.
