I am primarily responsible for constantly improving the quality and quantity outputs of the department and ensuring the team’s alignment with company goals while appropriately giving support and meeting the needs of direct reports.My specific responsibilities include:- Overseeing multiple SEO content writing projects from start to completion- Overseeing a growing team of writers, editors, project specialists, and team leaders (currently have 26 direct reports)- Ensuring department’s flexibility to meet capacity demands based on ever-changing client needs and industry landscape - Properly assigning direct reports to various projects without sacrificing deadlines and quality- Streamlining processes and developing procedures to maximise department’s skill sets- Handling recruitment and training tasks (created a whole new set of exam and interview processes specifically tailored to the needs of the department)- Giving staff feedback, coaching, and counselling whenever necessary- Sorting out staff grievances and addressing dissatisfactions- Ensuring direct reports’ adherence to company code of conduct- Conducting disciplinary actions whenever needed- Developing various motivational approaches for staff - Liaising staff’s concerns to higher management and vice versa- Liaising with other departments to promote smoother flow of company-wide processes- Conducting presentations for department improvement- Organising department outings and handling monetary incentives for the team- Occasionally assisting in the writing and editing of department projects

Ensuring that the department’s finished articles were of high quality and are pursuant to project specifications was my primary responsibility.Specific tasks included:- Mastering all the different Quality specifications for all projects in the department- Writing high-quality SEO articles- Editing articles to improve grammar and coherence- Ensuring all articles are informative or valuable to both search engines and human readers- Coaching and mentoring writers (involved researching correct grammar and coherence techniques and conducting feedback sessions and workshops for writers)- Constantly getting updated about SEO

I worked as a freelance writer creating SEO (search engine optimization) articles. I was able to write for various clients and I definitely learned a lot of things. I was also able to get familiar with a variety of niches such as health and fitness, investing and finance, home improvement, pets, food and beverages, shopping, and more.

This was my summer job. I was in charge of tracking the materials for all the accessories ordered by the company's clients.
