Managing a team of staff and volunteers, I developed community engagement workshops that used high-quality literature to start conversations about mental wellbeing on themes such as empathy, resilience, and mental illness.

I reviewed all major publications on the eighteenth-century novel for Oxford UP's Year's Work in English Studies. working collaboratively with other reviewers reading new releases on other genres and time periods.

I taught on the level 1 module Modes of Reading and the level 2 module Restoration and Eighteenth Century. Texts included Bram Stoker's Dracula, the poetry of Sylvia Plath, and the absurdist theatre of Edward Albee on the level one module, and Samuel Richardson's Pamela, Pope's The Rape of the Lock, Aphra Behn's Oroonoko, and eighteenth-century.

I completed a PhD in the English and History department of Ulster University, supervised by Frank Ferguson and James Ward. My thesis was a study of the history of anthologies in the eighteenth century and how they helped to focus discussions of national identity, with a particular focus on the anthologies of Bishop Percy.
