Started doing that in Tuscaloosa, moved to Tallahassee, FL, where I sought a BA in Fine Arts (acting). With only a Spanish class and a theater history class left to earn that 2nd degree, I moved to Atlanta and started working. Did that until I got married and had a child... really don't know how moms can juggle family and acting careers. WOW! Upon marriage, we moved to Henry County, GA, where we currently reside. Former Director of Music at Turner United Methodist Church in McDonough, GA, former Girl Scout Troop Leader, & former secretary with the State DPH. Always attended daughter's school activities, all the family & social activities, meeting new people, and making new friends.

Lots of stage, a little bit of commercials, industrials, and small screen work. Then... I had a child. and my priorities refocused. Yes, I saw actors bring their children to auditions and leave them with those who awaited their turn while they were inside performing, but how did they work with children at home? Unfortunately, this was when everything was beginning to take off. You've probably seen me in a reenactment on America's Most Wanted.

TeacherTuscaloosa County Board Of Education Sep 1991 - May 1992Spent the summer interviewing for teaching positions. Was actually told by one principal during an interview that I was looked too young and was too tiny (I was all of 4' 10" and 105 lbs soaking wet, lol), so he would be worried about my safety. I started substituting as a means to get my foot in the door. I pretty much worked every day in many different schools. Longest consecutive was for a teacher who'd gone on maternity leave. Continued subbing the next year, but after being on the inside of the profession, meeting some dynamic, creative, & effective teachers, AND some burned out, tired teachers, the future I saw for myself (should I continue this career path), wasn't for me. Yes, teaching can be fulfilling and inspiring. But the prospect of being one of the over-worked and under-paid, creating lesson plans and grading papers for the rest of my life, and the changes we all saw coming to the classroom? No, thank you. So I decided to pursue my passion for acting, stage, and music.
