At Booz Allen, I worked as a Tech-SETA at ARPA-E where designed and managed programs in plant breeding for bioenergy crops. I supported the TERRA and ROOTS plant breeding and phenotyping programs with an emphasis on genetics and optimizing phenotyping and genotyping research. I regularly consulted between ARPA-E and DARPA and developed collaborations between biologists and computer scientists to bring machine learning algorithms to plant biology. In addition, I developed multiple collaborations across DOE, USDA, and NSF for leveraged program support in plant health and crop monitoring.

I worked in the flow cytometry core of NBLBI. My primary role was as a cell sort instrument operator and I assisted customers of the flow core in experimental design and consulted for every aspect of this process from reagent selection to generating publication quality figures.

As a postdoc I study enzymes that regulate histone methylation to understand how these proteins regulate development. We combine animal models of altered histone enzyme expression with ChIP-seq and RNA-seq. Finally, we use bioinformatics approaches to generate a genome-wide understanding of how chromatin influences gene expression..
