I have completed an 18-month Flammanville 3 reactor operator training programme. A strong emphasis was placed on plant operations during simulator scenarios, where I was responsible for the control and monitoring of the plant, alongside conservative application of normal and fault operation procedures; the latter using the State Orientated Approach. I am also able to demonstrate professional use of human performance tools and effective control room teamwork.Current duties include training delivery and responsibility as a technical advisor to the HPC project. Duties also include managing training courses, providing subject matter expert knowledge to the reactor operator programme and acting as the intelligent customer for the control room simulator. By performing detailed computational and numerical analysis, we demonstrated that an applied magnetic field can be used to activate resonant modes of the weak link through induced electro-mechanical coupling, in a current-biased regime. This research allows for the determination of the weak link quality factor and resonant frequency using purely DC current bias techniques; which negates several shortfalls in the widely used AC voltage regime.
