UPDATE: I was promoted to permanent hearing office director on October 6, 2013.On December 24, 2012 I accepted the Acting Director position at the Cleveland ODAR Office. I will be in this position until a permanent Director is hired.

I will be moving the end of January to Cleveland, Ohio, where I will be a group supervisor for attorney advisors and support staff at the Cleveland Social Security Office of Disability Adjudication and Review.

I am currently coaching an arbitration team that will compete at Drake Law School in November.

I began my new job at Social Security on Monday, July 19th. My job is to review medical and vocational records and testimony and draft disability decisions based on the administrative law judge's instructions, in parameters with federal law. I have taught Trial Advocacy at Washburn University School of Law on a part-time basis for the last five years. I enjoy interacting with the students, and enjoy the experience very much. I always learn something during my teaching sessions.

I worked as a child support enforcement attorney in Leavenworth, Kansas after graduating law school, from 1999-2000. I left child support enforcement and worked for a short period-of-time at the Kansas Department of Revenue handling dealer license cases and driver's license revocation cases. In October of 2000 I began my litigation career at the Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services.

As an Attorney IV for SRS, I drafted policies and procedures in relation to litigation documents and electronic records. I assisted the hospital attorneys in risk management coordination. I represented the State of Kansas, the Department, and the Secretary of SRS in litigation cases in federal and state court.
