Nuclear reactor training and experience in the US Navy. Nuclear trained/qualified Machinist Mate from 1979 to 1983. Served as staff instructor at naval prototype, S5G, in Idaho from 1981 to 1983. Attended Auburn University 1983 to 1986 - earned BSEE. Trained and qualified submarines and Engineering Officer of the Watch as unrestriced line officer, USN, from 1986 to 1992. Served as Manager, Electrical Systems and Emergency Core Cooling Systems at Brunswick Nuclear Plant, dual unit boiling water reactor station from 1992 to 1995. Served as waste characterization engineer and then facility manager of Sandia National Laboratories Radioactive and Mixed Waste Management Facility from 1995 to 1997. Served as Electrical Engineer (designed and lead projects for significant upgrades to the ACCR) and Reactor Operator for the Sandia Annular Core Research Reactor from 1997 to 2006. Served as Manager, Engineering Support at Sandia TA-V, nuclear reactor facilities from 2006 to 2009. Served as Manager, Nuclear Facility Operations at Sandia, TA-V, 2009 to 2011. Completed Masters in Systems Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology. Served as a systems engineer in Engineering Support at Sandia TA-V from 2011 to January 2016. Served as Manager, Nuclear Quality at Sandia from 2016-2017. Serving as Systems Engineer at TA-V 2017 to present.
