  • Bank Of America
Consultant - Systems Engineering - Deployment And Maintenance Operations
Bank Of America Aug 2013 - Sep 2017
    Greater Atlanta Area
Working in the Continuous Services Improvement team. We are an ITIL environment and we are using this methodology to implement processes and procedures to improve productivity and eliminate risk. One of the issues I am targeting is re-imaging of workstations. By bringing that in-house and performing this function remotely instead of dispatching a Vendor tech, that will save on average $250K per month. Another function we are reviewing will be to Gdisk or wipe hard drives before they leave bank property. Reducing any risk of leaked data and reducing the cost of having a Vendor tech to perform this function. Other items, such as ensuring all machines have enough disk space in order for the machines to run properly and areas such as DMO have enough space to push Change.
  • Bank Of America
Senior Technical Mgr. - System Engineering And Analysis
Bank Of America Oct 1998 - Aug 2013
I managed a 3rd level technical support team of 20 that supports all Banking Centers (5500 +/-) (90K users) and BAND users (190K) for BofA. In our environment, we use the ITIL (IT Information Library) methodology. My team is Incident Management and we also perform Problem Management for Banking Centers & BAND users. We manage the relationship with our current vendor that supplies the techs in the field. My team is responsible to ensure they are trained and prepared to follow our direction to remediate incidents. We average 2300 incidents per month total for both LOB's. That number has gone down from averaging 6500 incidents per month when I took the position. We have worked with Engineering to identify problems and find root cause. Also, we have reduced some tickets by improving scripts for L1 & L2 to get the tickets resolved as soon as possible. We support all MAC (Move, Add, and Change) activity. We also have responsibility for managing Disaster Recovery/Mobile Banks (6) that can be deployed any place in the US where we do business. We also get engaged for any project support activity that could impact our environment. My first role at the bank (5 years) was to perform Project Management for the Banking Center Hardware Refresh. In that role, I worked with all LOB's and vendors to rollout new hardware and software to all Banking Centers. We rolled out hardware starting at the router located internally at the bank. That is a time consuming, tedious plan to incorporate a new image on the server and certify new hardware. Attention to detail is imperative for a successful rollout.
