Coordinate activities within the State of Texas for the National Disaster Medical System (NDMS). Plan for hospital patient and special needs evacuations and patient reception activities, as well as Federal Medical Station (FMS) planning and response. Create and conduct emergency response exercises on local, state and national levels. Also serve as Subject Matter Expert and Liaison to the Veterans Integrated Service Network 17 (VISN 17), VA North Texas Health Care System, Central Texas Veterans' Health Care System, South Texas VA Health Care System and the Valley Coastal Bend VA Health Care System.
