I’m a private and public sector manager with over 30 years experience. A former breakfast radio presenter, a managing director with Scotland’s leading commercial radio group for over two decades. Delivering a significant increase in profits and multiple UK and Scottish awards for stations MFR and Radio Borders.For the last seven years I've headed up Business Gateway for the Highland region. My role includes managing and maximising efficient use of the operational budget; steering the experienced team in fresh directions; reviewing internal and external processes; overseeing robust monitoring of KPIs; supporting partnership working; and representing Business Gateway Highland at all levels including trade associations, government bodies and media engagement - along with my regular Business Gateway national podcasts. One of my main objectives at Business Gateway Highland is to increase the support we offer to SMEs - with a focus on measurable performance and exceptional customer care. Business Gateway Highland now engages with almost 2,500 businesses every year supporting with specialist advice, workshops, start-up grants and digital development.
