The Army is a versatile and changeable workplace that performs a huge number of tasks for Denmark, both at home and abroad. Jutland Dragoon regiment is a combat regiment with proud traditions, established in 1679, and nowadays based in Holstebro. Soldiers from the regiment have participated in all wars Denmark has been involved in, and most international operations where Danish army forces have been deployed. As Private and later Private First Class in the Jutland Dragoon Regiment, I have primarily solved infantry tasks varying from the classic ideas of a soldier, to the administrative and as a teacher. Deployment with Jutland Dragoon Regiment on the 14th team to Afghanistan. I worked as a radio operator for the company commander, acting as an extra set of eyes, security man, manning the commander's radios and coordinating with the platoons. In addition, I operated the company radio center, and during the Signal Commander's leave, I acted as his stand-in.

We were primarily in one camp, but also moved around to relieve and assist other camps. I was primarily a rifleman, but also filled in as a reserve for several other functions in the group due to a wide range of skills, and in addition I made a virtue of trying to keep the spirits of the group high.
