Serve as the main contact for Maritime Passenger Rights, accessible to DfT policy leads and complaint bodies during working hours.Collaborate with DfT Policy, Legal, and complaint bodies to address passenger complaints and ensure EU Regulation compliance.Actively participate in biannual DfT/MCA meetings with complaint handling bodies.Maintain and monitor complaint data and sanctions, ensuring EC compliance.Publish biannual reports on EU Regulation implementation, sanctions, and complaint statistics.Acknowledge and respond substantively to complaints about EU Regulation breaches.Investigate and penalize breaches of the EU Regulation, ensuring consistent enforcement.Act as the Maritime Passenger Rights National Enforcement Body, investigating breaches of EU Regulation 1177/2010, prosecuting offenders when authorized, and ensuring compliance with maritime legislation.Share information and decision-making principles with other Member States for EU Regulation application.Develop compliance strategies, conduct visits, and promote best practices for EU Regulation (1177/2010).Update industry on enforcement and interpretation of the EU Regulation, and present at relevant meetings.Represent MCA at the annual national enforcement body meeting in Brussels with DfT policy lead.Act as enforcement officer for CPC Regulation 2004/2006 and attend biannual meetings in London.Adhere to MCA service standards and procedures in all activities.Manage business area activities and allocated budget.Ensure personal health and safety and promote HR best practices.Respond promptly to shared services inquiries.Raise the profile of the MCA as the UK maritime authority and assist the Head of Enforcement in meeting the unit's overall aims.
