My name is Danny Linsner, and I am currently an alumnus of St. John Fisher, having graduated in May 2015. I am was the sports editor for the Cardinal Courier for three years, which is Fisher's school newspaper. This fall, I interned at the Messenger Post newspaper in Canandaigua working in the sports department. This spring, I interned at WROC Channel 8 in Rochester in the newsroom. My most positive traits are that I am a sensational writer who writes clear stories that inform and illuminate. My goal is to tell people a story, and to keep people informed on the news that matters to them. I value being able to talk to other people about what is bothering them, and I enjoy working with people in order to solve a problem. My goal is to tell great stories, especially on behalf of someone who may not be confident enough to tell their own story. In my field, my passions are writing, reporting, sports, and listening to other people. My goals for the next few years include working for either a print newspaper or an internet-based news organization in the Rochester area in the near future. An example of one of these newspapers includes the Democrat and Chronicle, or the Messenger Post. Also, I would consider working at an television station as either a video journalist, reporter, or producer. I am very hard-working, understanding, helpful, and entertaining. My strengths include creative writing, my ability to interview, and my ability to listen, and to being accepting of other people’s opinions. I am eager to share my talents with local journalism professionals. My work ethic and empathy for others helps to set me apart. What motivates me as a person and as a professional are my parents, because they have a passion for what they done have made me inspire to become great in the field I hope to work in. Some sportswriters whom have inspired me by the way they work every day include Peter King, Bill Simmons and, locally, Bob Matthews.
