I’ve been interested in sustainability for a long time. As a kid, I learned about the natural world - what made it vulnerable, why we depend on it so deeply, and why its protection is thus critical. After studying business and starting my career in finance, I realized I was more drawn to my childhood interest in the environment. I wrote a book about what led us into the climate crisis and why we need to live in harmony with ourselves, each other, and the natural world. I’ve been writing ever since, helping organizations committed to sustainability move their prospects with well-researched, well-written, and reader-friendly content. Having lived and traveled across America and beyond, I moved to Portland three years ago to live in a city that blends its built and natural environments almost seamlessly. I think making cities like Portland better is a great framework to tackle the climate crisis and other societal ills. I want to help shape urban environments that are better suited for human well-being and flourishing by making cities more livable. In so doing, I see tremendous potential to abate environmental harms, improve mental and physical health, and lessen inequality.
