Software EngineerVmware Jul 2017 - Sep 2020Palo Alto, Ca, UsI worked on the SaaS version of the vRealize Automation application, a cloud-native project written in Java that uses the Spring framework. I contributed to several Kubernetes microservices in the application, but the vast majority of my efforts were on a single microservice. I wrote backend REST APIs and designed SQL schema. I was the primary contributor to several internal libraries, including one that was used for the validation of JSON data against JSON schemas. I was the main contributor to another library that used ANTLR to implement a parser.I migrated an entire microservice from a legacy framework (Xenon) to Spring and I contributed to an internal framework library used by several microservices in the application. I also supervised an intern's project during the summer of 2020.After about a year and a half in the role, I was promoted from Software Engineer 2 to Software Engineer 3.Before this, I was part of the Propel rotational program for new graduates. My previous position was a six-month rotation working on NSX-T integration for Pivotal Container Service, software that allows the deployment and management of Kubernetes clusters in vSphere datacenters. -

I also wrote and enhanced some user-space tests for this piece in C++ and I implemented a tool that generated C headers for inclusion in the codebase from a YAML file. -
