Large data centre Infrastructure refresh program• Successfully led the infrastructure stream of an £10m company-wide infrastructure refresh program• Migrated over 150 servers from Windows NT to Windows Server 2003.• Achieved 50% reduction in server footprint using VMware on the latest blade and SAN technologies.• Instrumental in the selection of an infrastructure partner after a 6 week vendor selection process.• Thorough oversight of teams during detailed design, testing and build stages.• Instrumental in achieving a clear and well defined architecture design.• Deployment of a 700 user Virtual Desktop Infrastructure environment.• From initiation through to deployment, success was achieved within less than 9 months. Store EPOS infrastructure refresh• Successfully led a £6m infrastructure stream for a company-wide EPOS refresh program.• Deployment management of 4000 Linux workstations and EPOS hardware into Store environments, with Citrix and Tivoli monitoring.• Management of three partner vendors across the detailed design, testing and build stages.• Negotiated multiple £1m+ contracts with Accenture, IBM, BT and Syan. Chip and Pin deployment• Met the logistical challenge in deployment 1800 ‘Chip & Pin’ devices into 250 stores, without impact to daily trading.• Managed the transition into BAU support achieving seamless handover to support teams.KESA London Head office relocation• Delivery to strict deadlines for the installation of new UK Head Office in central London, covering office refit, networking, PC and telephony systems.• Indentified, negotiated and implemented a remote PC support contract for 100 users. Citrix Webportal deployment• Accountable for third party vendor architecture to met all business requirements• Successfully managed the deployment of a 200 user Citrix environment, within 3 months.

I was responsible for 2nd and 3rd line support analysts, who supply the day-to-day support for the non-store infrastructure. Approx. 3000 users over 40 sites nation-wide. Daily tasks included management of support team; this included monthly one to one meetings with each team member, for personal development and performance reviews. Responsibilities include producing weekly status reports, working procedures manuals, representing the infrastructure support team at the weekly support meeting. Providing status updates on outstanding priority calls and current SLA performance. Producing reports to reflect current status of all project and enhancement work being undertaken by the infrastructure support team. By attending bi monthly I.S development meetings, I regularly provided technical consultancy to Project managers and assigned resources from the support team to assist with hand over to support or deployment. This provided a good platform for both support and development teams visibility of support issues and current progress of projects.My previous third party support background provided me with ability to improve the current SLA’s for break fix Maintenance. Negotiating several new maintenance contracts with Comet’s third party suppliers. By working with the third party and attending monthly meetings, SLA improved from a poor 60% to 90% for first time fix within a few months. This contract has been renewed each year and now the support model is being used for both store and non store environments.
