Stationed in the client's office(MAG) providing cost and commercial advice through the planning stages of MAN (Manchester Airport) Transformation Program. Successfully migrated to the business advisory team undertaking consultancy work within the aviation sector. Previous commissions consisted of Re-check capacity study, GRU - Guarulhos International Airport, São Paulo. Airport Design and Master Plan for AMP, Aéroport Marseille Provence - Marseille. Through experience gained in large infrastructure and civil programs, my initial commission was working in renewable energy within the Investment, Infrastructure and Utility team. Soon afterwards I was embedded within the client’s team, working alongside RWE in the final stages of their Biomass Power generation facility in Markinch. Brought in at a challenging stage of the project I was afforded the opportunity to develop skills in conflict avoidance and mitigation. Working within the limitations of a bespoke contract, the client’s asset was successfully delivered below previous forecasts.

Employed as a QS on several landmark projects including Strathclyde TIC building, Glasgow and The Rowett Institute of Nutrition and Health in Aberdeen. Specialising in concrete framed buildings, site infrastructure and ground works. Responsibilities• Dealing with new tenders, measuring and pricing materials from a B.O.Q.• Responsible for variations, measuring and claiming through interim payments.• Insuring sub contracted price work is measured and maintaining relations.• Selecting suitable subcontractor, through comparative analysis. • Carrying out verification and payments, communicating with head office on verification and payment terms through Coins operating system.• Working closely with main contractor and site team to ensure budgetary control with utmost ethical standard• Working with project manager to ensure KPI’s are reached within budget.Achievements• Successfully integrated into site team allowing free flow of information from site into valuations.• Afforded the opportunity to work independently on site with limited support.• Through personal organisation and initiative have insured that contract documents on my projects are up to date and sub-contractors fully informed of obligations, minimising conflict.• Built up strong list of contacts in Scotland permitting continued industry understanding.

Christie Civil Christie Civil is a medium sized civil engineering and construction contractor with a great depth of experience in undertaking challenging projects. Projects of interest include Ikea Sydney, Southern Hemisphere headquarters built on old Penfold’s Wine Headquarters. $22million Bund wall upgrade at Caltex Melbourne port. Responsibilities: • Supervise the work of labour, local trades and sub-contractors.• Oversee all subcontractors' activities for compliance with H&S.• Manage project logistics and ensure that plant and materials are available to support construction activities.

Small contractor working on domestic construction such as loft conversions, basement conversions, extensions and new build. Conditions of Contract: Joint Contracts Tribunal (JCT 2005) Value: Up to £500k Duties included: * Advice on the projected cost of the Building. * Budget Estimating and Cash Flow Projections. * Preparation of Applications for Payments and Valuations. * Preparation of take offs and Bill of Quantities. * Elemental Cost Planning and Analysis Projects of interest included working on a house that featured on channel 4s Grand designs. A key implementation I brought to this role was the establishment of a robust extras and variations agreement that ensured that all involved reached an agreed consensus before any party felt mislead on the exact detail required. A document that when required, consistently aided in conflict resolution prior to 2009 revisions.
