Mechanical Engineer.I create 3d Printed parts, models and prototypes. Anything from D&D figures to Carbon Fiber Tooling. Skilled in manufacturing, prototyping and design. I provide technical services which are essentially the same as, but definitely not "Engineering Services". I also dabble with Audio installs, Fiberglass layups and various manufacturing technologies and do-hickies. Check out the skills and projects section for a better picture of what type of work we can do. Why the who what, the where and the how:Just a squirrel trying to catch a nut. I grew up working construction in SoCal. Moved to Arkansas and stayed through College. Graduating with a BSME in 2017, I worked for several companies in AR and CT Designing tools, components and processes for the Aerospace and Defense Sector. To infinity and beyond:Some of my fondest memories as a child are of Saturday mornings with a bowl of Fruit Loops watching Wile E. Coyote engineer solutions to best his nemesis. My favorites were when he would concoct some fixturing on an ACME rocket with varying levels of success. It was then that I discovered what my purpose on this planet was - to help us leave.

Mechanical Design EngineerCollins Aerospace Jan 2020 - Apr 2020Windsor Locks, Connecticut, United StatesMechanical Design Engineer in the Sustaining GroupAlleviating recurring manufacturing issues with design changes. Generating a more efficient communication between engineering and manufacturing by transitioning from tribal knowledge to fully defined geometric data through engineering change requests. Drawing interpretation to provide engineering support to shop floor in multiple facilities in different countries.Data driven drawing and manufacturing changes reduced frequency and severity of non-conforming materials by tackling the root cause of the manufacturing defects rather than constantly fixing the symptoms. Parts were made cheaper and faster by reducing the amount of rework/repair and scrap parts produced.Review of manufacturing processes to identify and capitalize on opportunities for improvements to safety and productions yields. Review of SPC data to drive specific efforts and shift controlled processes to improve yields at different stages of the assembly process.Tolerance analysis and DFM/DFA efforts to ease manufacturing processes while maintaining original design intent. Some of the products have been in production for over 3 decades. -

Engineering InternMolex Jun 2017 - Sep 2017Maumelle, ArI worked for the High Performance Cable division, producing CADD drawings for testing equipment.Major contributions - 3D printing for cost reductions of up to 82 percent in prototyping and development.3D printed molds for cast-in-place photopolymer processing.3D printed threads now well documented and repeatable, down to M1.6.Designed test assembly requested by Molex in Taiwan, to be sent to other facilities in Massachusetts, Mexico and the Philippines.New manufacturing methods for continuity testing equipment.General Machine Design. -
Machine Shop/Engineering InternSuperior Industries Mar 2014 - Oct 2014Rogers, ArkansasMachine Shop and Engineering Intern.I started with documentation and process at a glance. I then worked my way up to completing my first engineering project from concept to fabrication that improved production production efficiency. I learned how to communicate in a professional manner in an industrial environment and how to communicate with multi-disciplinary teams to execute the deliverables of the project. I learned the basics of yield manufacturing, casting, building molds, machining, and how to use SPC monitoring to improve CPK and PPK numbers.Major Contributions--Lead machine shop to increase Cpk performance by 72% and Ppk performance by 48%-Designed machine that allowed use of a newly purchased inkjet printer, effectively eliminating the manual process of date stamping
