Researched cost and efficiency in the cache hierarchy. Developed analytical models to predict the frequency of clustered-cache-missed, and came up with alternative cache replacement policies to take advantage of the clustering.

Researched compression techniques for second level caches and developed simulators to enable this research.

Modeled the performance of media applications for future-generation microprocessors and developed a device driver to model the interaction between multimedia applications and the video card.

Wrote a Sonar Beam-forming Kernel using the AltiVec SIMD unit on Motorola PowerPC G4 chips; used SIMG4, a cycle-accurate simulator, to optimize the performance of the kernel; and integrated the kernel into a Sonar system using Computational Process Networks.
