Mr. Bain has been working in the software services industry for over 20 years, and before that he worked at several wireless and mobile software startups. His start in services leadership was as the first development manager for bing.com (then called search.msn.com), growing into modern search technologies used across Microsoft. After a role running the External Fulfillment technology teams at Amazon, Mr. Bain returned to Microsoft for the redevelopment and launch of bing.com in 2009, and then joined Tableau as the first services-first engineering manager. Mr. Bain was the Engineering Leader that launched Tableau Online and the company's move from a Windows shrink-wrapped software to a modern cloud-native cross-platform business. Most recently he is an Engineering Leader in Microsoft's Cloud+AI division specializing in governance, compliance and security.
