Family first, after that, Danny is a former professional motocross rider, turned entrepreneur, now Managing Partner of Beckett Industries and Beckett Development, his family companies for strategic investments in startups, growth equity, and real estate. He is also the Founder of Entrepreneur Ventures, the early-stage pre-seed venture capital arm of Entrepreneur Media. In his 20+ year career as a founder and operator, Danny has helped start and build 7 companies, exit 3, scale revenues to $100M+, and raise over $100 million from private and institutional investors. Born and raised in the Midwest, Danny grew up in small family businesses, learning the value of hard work and dedication. By age 13, he could pour concrete, run excavators, and fix his own motorcycles. However, he fell in love with dirt bikes when his dad taught him to ride at 4, and he started racing professional motocross at 16. After many crashes and broken bones, Danny didn't see a future in racing, so he transitioned out and started his first company at 19 in the e-commerce space, selling OEM and aftermarket parts and accessories. With a passion for venture growth, Danny moved his family to California for the second time, spending 15+ years back and forth to the Midwest, including time in LA, San Diego, and Silicon Valley, as a founder and operator building and scaling companies and raising capital from top investors, including Sequoia, Founders Fund, Obvious Ventures, SOMA Capital, BAM Ventures, ID Ventures, and Studio VC, to name a few. Beyond investing and putting deals together, Danny enjoys climbing into the trenches and helping founders and operators with strategy and planning, fundraising, sales and growth, brand building, product development, and general company building.
