As a naval officer, held positions of increasing responsibility in both front line and support roles. At various times, served as Chief Engineer on naval warships, project manager in charge of submarine major overhaul repairs, to eventually have responsibility for the allocation of Maritime Equipment Program resources to support strategic and operational need of the Navy. Served as Project Manager of a Business Improvement Project aimed at establishing a vision of Continuous Improvement and Best Practices in the management of strategic activities related to the maintenance and renewal of the Fleet.

Led cross-functional teams in planning and building of UN camps while on temporary assignment to the United Nations. Defined requirements and negotiated with local authorities, contractors and UN providers to build and service camps. Managed construction projects in politically sensitive areas. Key contributions:•Applied rigorous project planning discipline in tumultuous start-up environment. Identified risks and developed mitigation strategies, craftfully deployed resources for timely readiness of camps.•Established logistic support to remote areas devoid of infrastructure or road networks. •Post-construction, deployed to field as Regional Administrator to set-up camp organisation.
