I am an inventor and entrepreneur, having started my own firms as well as been involved in advising some 200+ firms in the past three decades. My focus is on leading edge technologies and trends, with a special interest impact-driven initiatives. I have been involved in a wide range of industries, including telecom, Internet, aerospace, alternative energy, health and medical, social networking, education tech, and youth non-profits. At the policy and economic development level, I have been involved in helping drive entrepreneurship across universities, towns, regions, and states, and continue to foster relationships to help build ecosystems to drive development and mutual growth. I am passionate about creating innovative mindsets in K-12 youth, and have been actively involved in multiple global non-profit initiatives around young inventors and entrepreneurs through the Invention Convention and other programs, Most recently, I have been active in helping young students commercialize their inventions, in launching innovation and entrepreneurship programming in the collegiate environment, and in launching a new global non-profit around artificial intelligence.

AdvisorMeter Health May 2013 - PresentWe've cracked the code on one of life's greatest mysteries-- the hiccups! While many think of the hiccups as a cute annoyance, chronic hiccups are a rare and debilitating condition affecting patients already struggling with cancer, heart disease, dialysis, and surgery. To date, clinicians and patients have had few treatment options and little data to support their use. Meter Therapeutics is working to replace a 1950's-era antipsychotic drug with a new standard of care for chronic hiccups.

Ceo, FounderTelechoice, Llc Aug 1985 - PresentTeleChoice is presently a holding company for my startup activities. In the 1990s and 2000s, TeleChoice was one of the largest management consultancies focused on telecommunications and Internet, during the heyday of fixed and mobile broadband growth. With few exceptions, most major telecom carriers, equipment vendors, competitive market entrants and Internet Service Providers were clients of TeleChoice. In my role as CEO of TeleChoice, I worked with Boards of Directors, senior executive teams, venture capitalists, private equity teams, royalty, and other movers and shakers to advance broadband around the world. TeleChoice helped launch some of the biggest names in telecom and Internet during that timeframe -- including four "unicorns". Today, TeleChoice is focused on launching and supporting startups in a broad range of industries, including medical devices, pharmaceutical, automotive, edtech, and energy. -

Ceo, FounderThe Stemie Coalition, Inc. May 2015 - Jul 2020Manfsield Center, Connecticut, UsFounded and grew The STEMIE Coalition (www.stemie.org) as a non-profit, umbrella organization of youth invention and entrepreneurship programs across the U.S.; STEMIE was acquired by The Henry Ford in August 2018 to be its global youth outreach program (rebranded as Invention Convention Worldwide). The coalition provided much-needed national attention on and drove interest in K-12 invention and entrepreneurship, and empowered the local affiliated organizations with best practices and collaborative resources. The STEMIE Coalition is the first such entity created to elevate invention and entrepreneurship education of K-12 students across the country. With founding corporate partners like Stanley Black and Decker and United Technologies (now Raytheon), we launched invention education programming and partnered with STEM and entrepreneurship programs with in-school curriculum and competitions to drive innovation and problem-solving skills into our next generation workforce. Our participants were perennially diverse and representative of the whole population -- 59% young women, 37% underserved, and 31% minorities. All K-12 students can be inventors. The non-profit group’s goal was to make an extensive, immediate, and measurable impact on youth invention and entrepreneurship in the U.S., and sought to train teachers and their youth inventors and entrepreneurs annually through the in-school programs of its affiliated partners, in all 50 states plus DC, within five years.Under this program, I conceptualized and led a volunteer team to launch The National Invention Convention and Entrepreneurship Expo (NICEE) in 2016, held annually at the USPTO headquarters in Alexandria, VA, which showcases and celebrates young inventors and entrepreneurs -- winners of the underlying partner invention and entrepreneurship programs from across the U.S. The National Invention Convention is now held at The Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation in Dearborn MI. -
