As a member of the Board helped shape strategy that significantly raised the turnover of the company 40 fold to make substantial year on year profits. The role is a balancing act to primarily ensure that the company meets its goals whilst employees meet theirs; juggling the whole lot so that it happens in the most efficient way possible.The GL Company was formerly known as DecisionWorks

Joint Head of Department. Managed development of the company's two main software products. During this time the company was renamed from DecisionWorks Software Ltd to The GL Company Ltd.

Brought experience gained whilst working on client sites and projects in my previous role as a consultant into the Development Department to create the bulk of an OLAP reporting engine that could be reused and deployed on multiple customer sites on multiple platforms. Eventually it became the core of the company's "GL Reporting" product.

Consultant delivering EIS systems to blue chip customers. Working usually solo on Client sites in the company's own "Track" language RAD system. Typical project length of around 6 months. Some based in the UK, others international.

Worked within a development team of 50 on a project to provide a motorway traffic control system to the Dept of Transport. Analysis and design of system using the Case Tool "Teamwork" and the Yourdon design methodology. Implementation in C on Solaris.

Worked within a team of 8 people to implement a Computer Aided pressurised pipe and waste water network planning system. Including layout, flow and structural calculations. Implemented in Oracle 6 and the Visionael CAD package.

Worked on the design and implementation of display software for electronic schematics. Implementation in C with XWindows (Motif / XtIntrisics) on Solaris.
