SOFTWARE EXPERIENCEo Built and optimized large electrophysiological dataset processing pipeline in Python and Matlab to collect, clean, and analyze Terabytes of data weekly.o Leveraged parallel computing on university supercomputers to cut run time from weeks to hours to meet the needs of scientific collaborators.o Designed and built full Windows Application in C++ to retrieve, analyze, and display live streamed data over a multi-window graphical user interface.o Used multi-threading principles to unpack, perform robust analysis on, and render a 20 MB/s stream of data at a steady 60 frames per second.o Utilized graphics API OpenGL, combined with open-source immediate mode graphics library Dear ImGui, to create a graphical user interface, enabling users to adjust plots in real time with immediate feedback.o Employed client/server architecture using Window’s Winsock API to form a two-way TCP/IP connection between the analysis computer and the recording computer to transfer data and send commands.RESEARCH AND LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCEo Utilized interdisciplinary approaches from informatics, neuroscience and physics to investigate effects of electrical stimulation on neurons and neural networks in an experimental biophysics laboratory.o Conducted statistical analysis on hundreds of neuron datasets via Principal Component Analysis, Multivariate Transfer Entropy, regression, null model significance testing.o Novel use of micro-electrode arrays to study effectiveness of electric stimulation in organotypic brain slices as a liquid state machine.o Weekly meetings to present and share research findings with scientists across the country as a member of multi-million-dollar NSF Expedition Mind in Vitro.o Organized schedules, delegated tasks, and trained graduate and undergraduate researchers.
