As a member of the Management Team I help define the organization’s early shape, working with thefounders and executives to make appropriate investments in organizational infrastructure. I set upUS operations, creating processes for banking, finance, HR, benefits, taxes, insurance, and compliance.I direct hiring and onboarding for all US staff, and manage the organization's online productivity tools.

I mentored and coached a diverse staff of engineers, implementation managers, and business development directors to provide technical outreach solutions that help state and local governments and non-profit organizations communicate with hard-to-reach populations. I assisted the CEO with strategy and direction. Thematic focus has included census, vaccine hesitancy, and elections outreach. 501c3 non-profit.

I directed all budgeting, finance, legal, and compliance for a hybrid PAC + affiliated c4 org engaged in coordinated grassroots federal and state elections work. I served as senior advisor on people programs, DEI, HR, and benefits. In 2020 (as NATIONAL ORGANIZING DIRECTOR ) I led the national field and organizing staff responsible for 150k+ volunteer voter contact shifts in presidential, senate, and state legislative / redistricting battlegrounds states. In 2018 (as DEPUTY POLITICAL DIRECTOR ) I was responsible for strategy and district-level analysis that helped win campaigns in 55 of 84 swing districts and flipped control of the US House of Representatives. Throughout my tenure I worked as a cross-cutting problem-solver in a fast-paced start-up / campaign environment. Redirected my career to help save democracy.

I led daily operations for a start-up selling modern canvassing tech to Democratic candidates and progressive orgs. I managed key relationships with Congressional and Presidential campaigns, including Biden and Harris.

Follow That Meat! was a traceability and transparency platform meant to de-commodify beef. I organized and founded the company. One of only twelve ventures accepted into the Village Capital Accelerator program in US ag-tech in 2015-16. Unable to secure long-term funding so returned full attention to Marin Sun Farms.

I reopened the largest USDA packing plant in San Francisco, and acquired the last remaining USDA slaughterhouse in the SF Bay Area. I led daily operations of a $12 million business with 105 employees that tripled in size in five years. I was responsible for leading senior staff as well as budget, forecasting, financial management, fund raising, and strategic planning. Responsible agriculture sustains our local communities!

I directed a 400-member, $500,000 direct retail Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program for a 130 acre certified Organic farm. Responsible for on-line sales, marketing, communication, and customer care.

I led $1.4 million in annual fundraising, including private foundations, federal grants, and major gifts. I coordinated the organization’s 5-year strategic planning process with our board and external stakeholders.

I provided expertise on energy, environment, agriculture, labor, veterans affairs and national defense issues. I staffed the Member at public meetings and attended community forums on her behalf. I resolved constituent problems through work with federal agencies and provided outreach to rural communities in San Mateo and Santa Cruz Counties. I helped plan, publicize and execute local meetings and town halls.

I worked on cases for constituents involving Medicare, Medicaid, health insurance, Social Security, state benefits programs and the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service. I staffed the Member at public meetings and attended community events on his behalf. Moved to Princeton when my wife started her PhD program.

I managed daily operations at a $1 million certified Organic, all union (UFW) farm. I directed labor and union relations, personnel and administration, training, health and safety, regulatory compliance, shop work, plus lease and contract negotiations. I helped double production acreage and reduced overhead costs.
