CurrentMy background from the 80s was primarily Security and Safety products (Manufacture and Supply).I was a founding member of a regional Architectural Ironmongery company in the South West of England which focused originally on the supply of Door Security and Window Hardware and has now expanded to include a National on-line supply channel called “Door Controls Direct”.In parallel to this I was a founding member of a passive fire protection company (Firestop Manufacturing Ltd) which was at the leading edge of the development and manufacturing of non-carcinogenic fire protection materials. The company primarily focussed on the supply of safety products across all major national builders merchants and major distributors such as Screwfix, Travis Perkins and Jewson’s (previously Harcross).In 2000 I had the opportunity, based on my security and fire protection background, to join a new venture (RiskSTOP Ltd) which specialised in Risk Management services primarily within the Insurance sector. I became Managing Director in 2001 and have continued to expand the Risk Management Business. I sold my investments in the fire protection business to focus on the formation of RiskSTOP Group Limited which was formed in 2008 to enable the expansion of the Risk Management service and also later in 2012 to invest back into the Security and Safety product sector.RiskSTOP amongst numerous industry awards was awarded the “Queen’s Award for Innovation” in 2006 which is something that we are very proud of. Myself and a few of the team had the privilege of being presented the award at Buckingham Palace and had the opportunity to meet The Queen in person.
