I have worked in the education sector for 20 years. Throughout this time, my professionalpassion has been to create purposeful links between employers, students and the localcommunity through apprenticeships, work experience, and relevant learning opportunities thatbridge the gap between individuals and businesses.The core of my current role is helping to connect employers with people in the local community so that both parties can find the right apprenticeships, work experience or other relevant learning and training.I volunteer as an Enterprise Advisor in Worcestershire's schools. Additionally, I hold a positionon the Board of Directors for the Kidderminster Business Improvement District, where I activelyparticipate in shaping the economic development of the region.I've spent the previous 15 years before my current role teaching Business Studies and always took every opportunity to forge purposeful links with businesses to enrich and enhance the curriculum. In my current role as Employer Engagement Manager at Kidderminster College, I lead a team of two Employer Engagement Officers, one Apprentice Engagement Officer and one Business Administration Apprentice at the forefront of the college's employer engagement activities. Primarily, my role is to plan, implement and monitor methods of increasing employer engagement between Kidderminster College and a wide variety of stakeholders in the local community. I work closely with the Business Centre Manager to develop, implement and monitor our employerengagement activities in line with the key needs of the local community in Worcestershire.College students across all curriculum areas. I work with a range of public, private and voluntary sectors to increase curriculum links with employers and our students across the apprenticeship, work experience, Skills Bootcamps and full-time curriculum programmes.To raise awareness amongst students of the career opportunities available to them, I work in tandem with a variety of stakeholders to plan, implement and deliver careers fairs, CV workshops, student visits, guest speakers, sponsorship opportunities, training sessions for Careers Leads, B2B networking events and social media campaigns. This has involved the creation of promotional material, scheduling of diaries, logistical planning, display stand creation and staffing the display stand throughout the event. I work closely with the Apprentice Engagement Officer in my team to deliver career skills workshops, mock interviews, assemblies and lessons across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 in local schools.Promotion of Kidderminster College's apprenticeship offer is a core part of my current role as Employer Engagement Manager. I regularly attend networking events, thinktanks, employer meetings, conferences, trade fairs, exhibitions and other ways to facilitate direct conversation with employers to assist in their recruitment solutions and work towards achieving my own KPI's.
