Working to complete my PhD focussing on DC power system protection, with a specific focus on detecting and locating DC arc failures within power electronics based distribution systems. Additional research focus has included looking at the environmental considerations with respects to arc generation, and producing an analytical method to characterise the inherent self-capacitance of multi-layer, air core inductors.

Took over management of the climbing club following the COVID-19 pandemic, in an effort to rebuild the club back to it's earlier strength. I'd seen the club when it was stronger, and wanted to ensure people had the same experience I did.A lot of work was done to redifine the committee roles, ensure new committee members knew and stuck to their responsibilities, and that events and training were run regularly, but also held to the highest standards of good practice and safety. Under my leadership the club grew to it's largest to date, at ~270 members, being one of the biggest and most popular sports clubs at the University.
