Job purpose is to supervise and develop the maintenance function in order to enable the department meet its safe operation and production targets. Planning, reviewing and analyzing preventive maintenance strategy for instrumentation equipment to achieve highest efficiency in the section. Job Accountabilities:• Ensuring 98% availability of instrumentation and control equipment for efficient process control.• Provide technical advice during troubleshooting and corrective action of instrument breakdown of failures to find the root cause and best solution in order to restore the functionality.• Attend to technical queries by operations personnel.• Monitor spare parts and inventory for critical instrumentation equipment.• Plan, scope and lead the execution of shutdown works for instrumentation to ensure completion within the specified window, liaising with other sections or services.• Provide inputs to maintenance planner with regards to instrument maintenance activities.• Promote safety consciousness among subordinates.• Cover for HOD Instrumentation in their absence.

Involved undergoing a development program in various plants across the company. The plants include Tailings Leach Plant, Central Instrumentation, Smelter and Concentrator. Also to understand operations in these plants with particular attention to the field instrumentation, respective communication architecture, supervision and control systems.Job Accountabilities:• Ensure adherence to all Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality activities.• Track inventory of critical instrumentation spares.• Took up Senior Assistant Engineer position on projects, coordinating the project and process teams.• Cover for Section Engineer in their absence.
