In 2015, Dan affiliated with Independent Financial Partners to form IFP Institutional Services. Based in Tampa, IFP has >250 advisors across a national footprint. On a national basis, IFP Institutional Services works with financial institutions, retirement groups, or other financial aggregators to establish advisory, wealth, broker dealer or distribution opportunities. In addition, Dan is the founder of Private Wealth Alliance, a Florida-based wealth advisory firm located in Fort Lauderdale. Private Wealth provides strategic guidance to financial institutions seeking to introduce or re-engineer wealth management programs. Prior to founding Private Wealth Alliance, Dan served as Executive Vice President at BankUnited and President of BankUnited Investment Services. Dan has extensive background across retail, commercial, and private banking leadership roles in wealth management. Before BankUnited, he served as President & CEO for Colonial Bank Wealth Management Group and launched the full-service broker dealer for First Horizon Bank, where the firm was recognized as the top US regional bank program.Dan was a co-founder and served as past President of the Bank Insurance & Securities Association, the Washington D.C.-based industry association comprised of national, regional, and community banks and credit unions engaged in wealth management. Today, Dan remains an Emeritus Director for BISA. In Fort Lauderdale, Dan has served in several civic and non-profit organizational posts including past Chairman and Board Member of Children's Diagnostic Center. He recently concluded a 10 year Board appointment with Boys Town of South Florida where he served as Board Chairman. Currently, Dan works as a court-appointed Guardian ad Litem affiliated with the 17th Judicial Circuit Court in Fort Lauderdale. Consistent with his dedication to children and social services, Dan served for 9 years as a volunteer probation officer and Division Chief with the Memphis & Shelby County (Tennessee) Juvenile Court. He remains an active supporter if Memphis-based St. Jude's Children's Hospital and Youth Villages.
