CurrentFocus on innovation and process improvement. Moving our IT organization more towards a private business model while maintaining and meeting all government needs and requirements.
Director, Information Technology
Started with Houston Interests with a series of goals to take a group of diverse companies and guide them through the process of implementing corporate wide enterprise systems. With a small external Managed Services company and one additional internal employee (Applications Manager), we managed to complete a Dynamics SL baseline implementation while also bringing the Dynamics SL PO system and Messaging system online. We implemented a hosted Applicant Tracking System to match Houston Interests requirements and started the process of building a BI Model for a wide variety of reporting services. Under the Infrastructure umbrella we upgraded the LAN hardware and wiring at 2 of the 4 current Houston Interests locations as well as researched extensively the best solution for business wide collaborative EPC project execution with a focus on 3D CADD services. Other goals and projects included budget management, hardware and software licensing, inventory and management, vendor management, client satisfaction and management reporting.
Director Of Information Technology
As a consultant on the technology separation process for Blueknight Energy Partners’ (previously known as SemGroup Energy Partners – SGLP), separation from SemGroup, I subsequently assumed the project manager position for that process. Upon completion of that assignment, I was hired as Senior I.T. Manager, and in 2012 was promoted to Director of Information Technology. Over my four years there, I guided BKEP from a small hosted managed services support group, with minimal single function servers and end-of-life desktop hardware and software, to an internal 11-person infrastructure and application support team with a hosted help desk, a 66-enterprise server VMware environment including operational and developmental needs, and a technology refresh plan for all remaining desktop and laptop systems, which was 80% complete. Our team provided infrastructure and application support for crude oil and natural gas condensate trucking, storage and pipeline systems, asphalt and emulsion plants and all other administrative and operational functions. Internally-developed Business Intelligence (BI) tools became the mainstay of analytics and reporting for executive management. Long-term disaster recovery planning was moving forward and support for three and five-year business plans was in progress. BKEP, being a publicly traded company was bound by the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) of 2002. BKEP’s I.T. team never failed an internal or external SOX audit and always received commendation for efficiency and team work with the auditors.
