Lincoln, Nebraska Area

Project manager for a grant to the Nebraska Office of the CIO and University of Nebraska-Lincoln entitled, “Initial Design and Implementation of the Nebraska Geospatial Data Sharing and Web Services Network”. The data portal facilitates interactive data access and exchange between the University of Nebraska (NU), state, local, federal agencies, the private sector, and the general public.The main purpose of the grant is to provide metadata for all data layers in Nebraska and links to published services, data repositories, or contact information at the very minimum.Acquired all 93 county street centerline files for the purpose of creating a statewide street centerline. While creating the data all attributes were normalized and edges matched along county boundaries. The products created in the process are a geofile for the Nebraska State Patrol’s Computer Aided Dispatch, a tiled and cached Nebraska state base map, and a statewide geocoding service. Albertville, Mn

Ran the operation of a national softball organization and their National Tournaments. Assisted staff with material for their television show, radio show, and website.

Greater Omaha Area

Started the spatial data conversion for this major public utility's (440,000 customers) Microstation mapping system into an enterprise wide GIS solution. Created logical models and database schema preparing to go into pilot data conversion. Started the conversion of over twenty disparate databases that have all of the attributes to the new system into attributes on our new multi user geodatabase.

Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul Area

Provided GIS vision for the County, act as the central point of contact, and developed GIS as a culturally accepted technology amongst staff. Provided leadership, organization, and communication necessary to deliver an enterprise-wide GIS solution on behalf of the County.Provided traditional GIS techniques to the non-traditional GIS users. Centralized GIS staff into one department and provide special GIS applications instead of GIS Specialists in every department.Created many internet mapping applications like Property Information Search, Surveyor/Section Corner Information, Dynamic Half-Section (Tax) Maps, Quick Map (Desktop GIS replacement), and various Environmental Health mapping applications. Many of these applications are available on the Scott County website at http://gis.co.scott.mn.us. We also had an intranet site with "sensitive information", and not for public consumption.Other Projects Include: DFIRM Map Modernization, digitizing/attribute editing through ArcIMS into SQL Server/SDE, Permitting Application, Dynamic Half Section Maps (ArcMapServer), IMS connectivity to various disparate databases/warehouses throughout the County, implemented data models and topologies for land parcels, addressing, and natural resources. And we also flew the County for six inch color pixel orthos, two foot contours, and 1:200 planimetric mapping.

St. Paul, Mn

Worked on the EPICplanner model used to create regional and local planning strategies. It ran completely in EPIC which is a free GIS software supported by the Minnesota Geospatial Information Office (MnGeo). Also worked with grant recipients at various counties and regional governments throughout the state on their GIS implementations.

Maple Plain, Mn

Worked on the Baytown Township Groundwater Contamination Superfund Site and delineated groundwater contamination concentrations of Trichloroethene (TCE). Worked with T.F. Green Airport in Providence, RI to set up their GIS base map and flight track GIS database.

Minneapolis, Mn

Managed GIS implementation of GIS at MAC, operators of the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. Created a priority list for the FAR Part 150 Airport Noise Compatibility Planning Program for Home Sound Insulation. Homes immediately surrounding the airport were eligible for insulation. Who gets insulation priority list was created by analyzing the Integrated Noise Model and other airport/fleet characteristics.Modeled the FAR Part 77 Objects Affecting Navigable Airspace using ESRI’s 3D Analyst to better understand the three dimensional aspects of the airspace at MSP and its effect on the buildings immediately around the airport grounds. The result was the northeast corner of the Mall of America parking ramp would have to be a lit obstruction and many buildings in the approach of the new north-south runway would have to be removed. Worked with Honeywell Aviation and their partners to provide mapping for a Differential Global Positioning System used to track in-flight aircraft and surface vehicles on airport grounds.
