I oversee the full spectrum of software engineering for Motorola Solutions’ ASTRO Subscriber mission-critical public safety radio platform, with responsibility for the architecture, development, and test of more than 4 million lines of C++ code in a Linux environment operating on Nucleus RTOS with DSP and ARM9 processors for core radio, handsets, interfaces, and all components, as well as for the Android Platform team developing a first body-worn camera product offering. In this capacity, I liaise with our Quality team on ISO-9001 certification standards, and leverage Agile methodologies directing an organization with as many as 150 software engineers in Florida and 150 additional engineers in Malaysia and China on a dotted-line basis. Notable achievements: ►Playing a central role in the architecture and delivery of MSI’s strategic product roadmap. ►Transforming the internal culture, accelerating development cycles and improving quality. This was achieved by maturing the Agile and Scrum processes, combining test and development functions, and deploying tools that enabled continuous integration and test. ►Orchestrating more than 15 major releases incorporating standard-setting functionality and FIPS 140-2 security protocols. This included the on-time launch of the APX 8000 platform recognized as Motorola’s most successful product to date. ►Directing the migration of the Android OS to the si500 Body Camera and Video Speaker Microphone. This was the first body worn camera offering by Motorola. ►Building and developing a high-performing organization with a strong pipeline of leadership talent.

I headed a multidisciplinary Agile-oriented organization of 130 software and electrical engineering staff in Maryland and New York designing and deploying secret-classified NSA-certified Sierra ASICs, digital hardware, FGPA, and C++ software solutions. In addition, I served as a liaison to the NSA and other US government officials, and held a dual role as the Columbia, Maryland site’s general manager. Notable achievements: ►Managed the design and development of a suite of NSA algorithms used in military encryption. ►Pioneering the creation of the first certified and fielded Suite B device deployed by the US Military. ►Leading the top-down architecture and delivery of a certified cryptographic ASIC. ►Championing the development of a KIK-11 Tactical Key Loader IDIQ order from the US Navy. ►Strengthening product quality and execution by redesigning the management structure and overall workforce design to elevate the culture, embed an Agile mindset, deploy CMMI Level 5 initiatives, and drive leadership development.
