Profile bio

About Dan Poling

My passion is cultivating and nurturing innovative ideas until they come to fruition in ways that deliver meaningful value to customers. The responsibility for delivering innovation to market can reside in many places across a company, with Product Management typically being the focal point that fits all of the necessary organizational pieces together in a way that builds great businesses when important customer challenges are solved. I LOVE these type of Product roles - wearing many hats, understanding customers, managing tradeoffs, finding the perfect intersection between business model and technology constraints, outmaneuvering competitors, learning new things fast, and having the courage to say no at times.I've tackled every aspect of creating new Products over my career, with the good fortune to lead great teams across many functional disciplines: Product Management & Product Planning, Customer Experience, Customer Insights & Market Research, Technical Sales, Product Marketing, and Executive Management. My broad experience, which ranges from startups to the largest of enterprises across both client and agency roles, provides a strong foundation to plug-in almost anywhere in the organization and have impact. What I have learned over time is that I am less focused on a specific role or industry, and more energized by: (1) Mission & Vision: that are customer focused and Inspire teams to Innovate, (2) Company Culture: that values and rewards Curiosity & Learning, and (3) Executive Leadership: that live out their company Values in tangible ways. I really enjoy learning about novel ideas, companies, technologies, and opportunities so please reach out if there is anything new to share or just to catch-up. It goes without saying - let me know if there is anything that I can do to help or support you. My family and professional colleagues will tell you that I have a story for everything. So, make sure your coffee cup is full before we start chatting.
