I am an enthusiastic and responsible public relations practitioner with a reputation for my reliability. A problem-solving teammate, I thrive under pressure in a variety of environments. My writing capabilities and interpersonal skills are some of my greatest assets.I currently work with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat as a communications officer in the strategic communications and ministerial affairs sector. I have held previous communications positions with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, and the Canada Post Corporation. Each opportunity has allowed me to apply my schooling to real-life scenarios and refine the skills I learned through academia.During my academic career, I attended Carleton University for a Bachelor of Arts, Honours, in Communication Studies, a concentration in Image, Politics, and Persuasion, and a minor in History. A desire to concentrate my learned experience led me to Algonquin College's School of Media and Design, where I graduated from the Public Relations Diploma program with Honours. Past volunteer experience as a student outreach coordinator for the Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS) Ottawa-Gatineau allowed me to grow my professional network while improving my proficiency in event planning, communications, social media, and time management. Creating and editing content for the program's online newsletter allowed me to continue perfecting my writing. I am honoured to have received the CPRS Ottawa-Gatineau Student Volunteer of the Year award for the 2015-16 season.Roles both inside and outside the workforce have given me a myriad of skills: strategic planning, public and client relations, team management and conflict resolution, public speaking and image professionalism, journalism and creative writing, media monitoring and analysis, social media measurement, database research, photography, design, and a knowledge of branding and advertising.
