● I'm an experienced digital program manager with a mix of hands-on experience leading teams through early stage development, and larger scale transformation programs.● For me, digital is more than just marketing, the ‘website’ or your app - in a digital-first world it’s everything from your sales and service channel through to the tools your staff use to support your customers on the phone or in person. ● In nearly all of my roles, I’ve operated at the intersection of the business and technology teams as a translator who turns business needs and customer wants into inputs that technical teams can use.● I've set up delivery programs from scratch, intentionally hiring to ensure successful working patterns are repeated, but I’ve also been asked to assess existing programs or delivery structures and provide recommendations to improve, or refocus.● I’ve taken long running digital programs from build to BAU, navigated the challenges of scaling from single to multiple teams, and worked with established business and technology teams to integrate agile practices into traditional operating models● I’m primarily a delivery guy, which for me means finding the balance between Product, Technology and Design (in teams, program structure, and requirements) as keeping the creative tension between these elements enables stable and continuous delivery.● I’ve learnt that good software can only be delivered when you are actually speaking to customers, and I’ve worked out how to include user research into development cycles so customer value is not compromised during the heat of delivery.● I’m not a fan of ‘technology led’ digital programs and believe whether your tech is bespoke or based around one system, you need to do the hard work to ensure the customer experience is truly personalised to your customer. ● I’ve come to believe Content Strategy is the new Digital Strategy as it incorporates elements of user research, service design, and UX design and includes customers in the delivery cycles to ensure the product delivered makes sense to the customer.● I’m the father of three girls (twin 7-yr-olds and an 11-yr-old) and husband of a full time career woman. At this stage in my career I’m looking for a flexible role that allows me to balance my work/life commitments.
