Design, implement and maintain solutions for Notre Dame's enterprise Application Services team. Manage and maintain ND's Pharos Print systems (past 14 years), ColdFusion Environment of over 40 sites (13 years), DEA's Event Management System (5 years), Ellucian DegreeWorks (9 years), various J2EE and Ruby on Rails sites, and a large number of university specific applications both on premises and on Amazon Web Services. During the past few years, I and my team have moved over 80% of our on-premise VMWare servers/sites to Amazon Web Services. Taking on a new role in 2021, I have been immersed in big data reporting using Tableau and AWS QuickSight - working with our Finance office to facilitate accurate and timely reporting for Cost/Benefit analysis. I have also leveraged these Tableau skills to provide greater reporting capabilities for a large number of our core services.

First subcontracted to ISSC (IBM Global Services) in Network Support Group at USShoe, Nine West Group, Inc and then subcontracted directly to Nine West Group Inc. and Jones of New York, I worked in all aspects of Netware/UNIX LAN administration and E-mail Administration including installation, backup and support of 13 Netware 3.12 file servers, 2 IntraNetware 4.11 servers, 4 Windows NT 4.0 servers; an HP Openview NMM server (HPUX), 3 SAA gateway servers, an HP 9000 WorldTalk Server, 2 Solaris 2.5 systems, 1 SNA gateway server, a Citrix Winview server (OS2), 2 AppleShare Workgroup Servers, an async gateway (Novell NW Connect w/Digiboard) that served 120 remote salesmen, and supported up to 800 client workstations. I also supervised a staff of between 4 and 12 contractors at varying times as well as large groups of contractors coming in for special projects. I was involved in and/or led numerous inventory and transition projects. I also worked on call for ISSC and did projects for some of their other major clients including Krogers, Procter and Gamble and GE Aircraft Engines. I assisted in strategic MIS planning during the buyout of US Shoe and the transition to the parent LAN/WAN at Nine West Corporate Headquarters. Beginning in June of '96, I was responsible for all LAN related activity in the Cincinnati Corporate offices, its distribution center and 8 domestic factories. It also allowed me to manage a great team of people. I prepared and conducted employee training in Netware and E-mail administration for both Alternative Resources Corporation and Nine West Group. I also did technical evaluations (screening interviews) for Alternative Resources candidates going into the Procter& Gamble environment under ISSC (over 100). I received numerous awards for successful performance of both general duties and special projects.

Hired for the Novell Groupwise upgrade/installation for Children's Hospital Medical Center, I was instrumental in getting this extremely large and complex project back on track and providing technical and project management support in seeing the project to a successful completion. I also completed a large number of "one off" assignments at a large number of Cincinnati area medium sized businesses and dental/doctor's offices in implementing Unix, Windows, Novell or Macintosh based application upgrades/installations.

Contracted to Proctor and Gamble's corporate offices, I set up and administered P&G Accounts Payable LAN including CCmail and Paradox AP system. Worked as first and second level help desk/IS in an Information Center that supported 2000 workstations. Was tasked with numerous projects as a project manager including installing and maintaining Netware LANS and standardization of applications as well as cutting over 12 MS LanMan servers to Netware and all user workstations. Worked as support for company’s Metaphor and Unix (System V, SRV4) client workstations. These projects allowed me to supervise teams of technical professionals. Was second level support (very late hours) for Novell File Servers and cc:Mail post offices. Worked as hardware/software support engineer and database developer between projects.

I setup, maintained, administered and troubleshot the UCEDUCATION Novell 2.15 and 3.11 network and workstations for 142 users in the College of Education. I installed and upgraded hardware and software in numerous campus buildings. Worked as WP Office administrator. Working with the deans and faculty throughout the Western campus, I wrote numerous Unix scripts to allow easier and more logical access to the campuses Unix, VAX/VMS and Mainframe facilities. I trained faculty, staff and students in Unix scripting and Internet technologies. I evaluated and recommended hardware and software for the colleges and wrote grants. I performed administrative projects as assigned by the Dean and Associate Dean of the College and the Psychology Department of the College of Arts and Sciences and the Office of the Provost. Developed three database systems for inventory tracking, the Budget Office and Counseling. Managed a team of two technicians and seven student technicians. Received numerous awards and recommendations for projects and service.
