At EyeOn, we help clients make better/faster decisions in supply chain using data science. Often in the domains of demand forecasting, inventory optimization, or network design, or supply planning. I co-lead our ‘Products & Services’ business unit; focusing on excellent delivery on our Planning Services, maximizing the value we deliver to our customers, and developing innovative, market-fit Products -- all on the interesting intersection between data science and supply chain.Additionally, helping our clients solve their supply planning puzzles using the More Optimal planning platform.

Filling the role of CISO, as we work (with a team, of course) to get EyeOn ISO27001 certified in two waves. Overall goal is to protect our own data as well as the data that our customers trust us with. Focus on mitigating the necessary risks, while not disturbing ongoing business and giving our employees sufficient awareness and empowerment to make the right decisions in their everyday work. Certification audit scheduled for April 2024.

Creating the podcast "EyeOn Perspectives", together with audiophile and partner-in-crime Bram Bongaerts. An internal podcast aimed to connect all EyeOn'ers on key topics like projects, career paths, EyeOn initiatives and much more.

Leading the Data Science team, serving customers across industries as well as continuously improving and enriching EyeOn’s Honeycomb platform. Responsible for long-term definition of roadmaps and mid-term execution on those. Enjoying working with the team on innovation ideas, technical challenges, and exciting customer projects.

I led the R&D Application Development department. In this role, I was responsible for quarterly delivery of 8 standard DELMIA Quintiq applications. With the team of Product Managers defined multi-year direction of all applications, and together delivered on these commitments. Helped the personal growth of the 60-80 people in my management line, as well as the growth of the department as a whole through both recruitment and internal mobility. I initiated and facilitated changes in structure, direction, and processes. Integral part of the "DELMIA Quintiq Optimization Leadership" team, the global group of senior optimization experts, enabling successful optimizer development and implementation in DELMIA Quintiq as a whole.

Responsible for all optimization technology in each of Quintiq's standard products. We provide optimizers that work out-of-the-box for a large variety of planning puzzles in many industries.Part of the leadership team of Products - together managing day-to-day operations of ~90 people in total. Member of OPT ("Optimization Puzzle Team"), a small team enabling successful optimizer development and implementations Quintiq-wide.

Build and lead a team within Quintiq's Products department with the mission to continuously improve and enrich the optimization technologies in each of Quintiq's standard products. From 1 Optimization Expert early 2015 to a team of 15 two years later, all contributing actively and full-time to one of the standard Products. Member of OPT ("Optimization Puzzle Team").

As a professional puzzle solver I worked in the R&D Optimization team on optimization puzzles, both academic benchmarks and puzzles arising from practice, where the main goal was to continuously improve the features and performance of the software that we create. I was responsible for creating and maintaining our algorithm benchmarking infrastructure that continuously tracks the performance of our software on a range of academic and industry benchmarks. I was part of the team working on finding world-record class solutions to well-known academic benchmark puzzles.

Research Fellow in the Computational Algebra Group. My main occupation was designing and implementing algorithms for the Magma Computational Algebra System, including writing publications and presenting my work at international conferences. My work also included solving bugs in various areas and performing a number of administrative duties. Additionally, I have taught a supplementary mathematics course for first year students.

Ph.D. student in Discrete Algebra and Geometry, supervised by prof.dr. A.M. Cohen. My thesis was later awarded the "Schoonschipprijs" for best 2010 thesis in The Netherlands in the area of computer algebra.Apart from the usual activities for a Ph.D. student in Mathematics, such as research for the thesis and teaching, I have also contributed as OpenMath expert to the European project “SCIEnce” (Symbolic Computation Infrastructure for Europe). In this project nine academic partners cooperated to improve communication between mathematical software. Briefly put, we used an existing XML-based standard ("OpenMath") to enable various existing software packages, originally designed with very diverse goals in mind, to exchange mathematical data. It was very good and extremely instructive to work with partners from such different backgrounds, with regards to both culture and profession.

Tasks included maintenance of the company's CRM database, development and maintenance of the company website, and various other computer related activities.

Working on the development, mathematical foundation, and implementation of an automated prover for geometrical theorems. The resulting report, "Proving Statements in Planar Geometry and Cinderella," was rewarded 9 out of 10 points.
